Our Mission
Enriching lives in a supportive environment
Handiworks provides essential programs and training opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Nipawin, Saskatchewan.
Handiworks was established in the early 1980’s when a group of citizens in Nipawin and area felt that there was a need to provide services for members of the community who have an intellectual disability.
1984
In 1984 the first Workshop opened with six participants and later that year our first six resident group home.
1988
In 1988 we added the operation of the Sarcan Nipawin Depot shortly followed by Sarcan Tisdale.
We've grown to include four group homes, a Day Program with a woodworking shop, developmental program, commercial kitchen, and an expanded retail store. We continue to operate two Sarcan depots and have added new ventures like Tackle Tyme HW and Brown Bag Lunch. All programs provide participants with valuable employment and life skills.
